Violette, Claude Chabrol, 1978
Violette, new to DVD, features a very young Isabelle Huppert as a deliciously wicked teen in 1930s Paris. In this, his first of many teamings with Huppert, Chabrol rather oddly filters his familliar domestic terrors through a fractured, hallucinatory lens, resulting in a disjointed, if still satisfying, Chabrol policier.
